# Meaningful Icons for GitHub

|
This directory keeps [`meaningful-icons.os.js`](./meaningful-icons.os.js) and all of its resources together. It vendors the icon manifest and SVG assets from the [`material-icon-theme` 5.38.1 npm package](https://www.npmjs.com/package/material-icon-theme/v/5.38.1), which was the npm `latest` release when updated on September 11, 2026. The local copy lets the script load pinned assets from the GetOpenScript repository instead of depending solely on a third-party CDN.

The package is distributed under the MIT License; see [`LICENSE-MIT.txt`](./LICENSE-MIT.txt). Its documented icon sources include Material Design Icons and Material Symbols, which generally use the Apache License 2.0; see [`LICENSE-APACHE-2.0.txt`](./LICENSE-APACHE-2.0.txt). Brand/logo glyphs can be excluded from blanket icon licenses and may be subject to their owners' separate copyright or trademark terms.
